Privacy note
Kids can play every world without an account, and we don't ask for anything about them to do that.
Children can play without telling us anything
No sign-in is needed for the four learning worlds. We don't ask for a child's name, age, school, photo, location or any other personal information. There are no ads, no trackers, no chat, and no links out to other websites inside the kids' pages.
Progress with no account: saved on this device only
If nobody signs in, the grade a child picks and the stars they earn are kept in this browser only (this is the DEMO ยท this device only badge at the top). They aren't sent to us, they don't follow the child to another device, and clearing them is one button: Grown-ups' Corner โ Reset local progress.
If a grown-up signs in and makes learner profiles
A parent account holds:
- the grown-up's email address and a password (stored as an unreadable hash), or a Google sign-in link;
- for each learner profile: a creative nickname (20 characters or fewer), a chosen avatar, a grade, and the stars they've earned.
Learner profiles are meant for made-up names โ like "SpaceFox" or "Captain Owl" โ not a child's real name, and avatars are pictures the app offers, not photos. Only the signed-in parent can see their own family's profiles and stars.
The Writing Coach
A grown-up pastes a paragraph and it is sent to an AI service to get revision suggestions back. The app does not save the paragraph. That's why the Coach screen asks grown-ups to leave out names and other personal details before pasting.
Payments
If a grown-up buys a plan, the payment provider (Paddle) handles the card details โ we never see or store a card number. We keep a small record of which plan is active and until when, so the app knows what to unlock.
What we don't do
We don't sell anyone's information, share it with advertisers, or use it to build advertising profiles.
Seeing, changing or deleting it
- A grown-up can delete a learner profile in Grown-ups' Corner โ that removes the profile and its stars.
- A grown-up can clear one child's stars without deleting the profile.
- A grown-up can close their own account, which removes the family's profiles, stars and plan records.
- On-device demo progress can be cleared at any time without contacting anyone.
An honest limit on this page
This is a working prototype, not a launched service. It has not been reviewed against COPPA, FERPA or other children's privacy rules, so we don't describe it as compliant. Before real families are charged, this note will be checked properly and any changes will be listed here.
